Meet Steph and Robin, plant alchemists and sensory experience creators, inviting you into a world where forest, flavor and ritual awaken a deeper connection to nature, body and collective presence.
Steph, co-initiator and creative force, is a psycho-mystic, sensual navigator and botanical creatrix weaving somatics, ritual and community care into embodied spaces of connection. Robin, founder and visionary behind Fungai Art, is a chef, elixir maker and forager whose work bridges neuro-pharmacology, plant intelligence and immersive experience. Together, they create New Tyme Tonics and Fungai Art as living expressions of plant alchemy - where nourishment, sensuality and consciousness meet.
How did your journey with plant medicine begin, individually and together?
āWe are sacred rebels, artists and stewards activated by her pulse.ā
Robin: My path began in the forest of Sweden, learning directly from the land through years of foraging, cooking and working in nomadic festival kitchens. Over time, crafting herbal tonics and working with fermentation became second nature.Ā
Steph: My Transylvanian roots live through my hands and the way I listen. My path has unfolded through facilitation, weaving somatics, ritual, sound and botanical practice into spaces of embodied connection and remembrance - bridging soma, spirit and collective experience to re-enchant how we meet medicine through relationship, presence, attunement and artistry. I had a fierce fire initiation in my room and crafted from that moment in my life a new Blue Lotus elixir. This blend came out of the ashes and was served on a floating dock at a family fest outside Berlin during my Blue Lotus Gong Trance. Through that we met and connected.
What do you do with Fungai Art and New Tyme Tonics?
With Fungai Art and New Tyme Tonics, we translate the intelligence of the forest into liquid art like alchemical tonics, elixirs, botanical extractions but also immersive, edible rituals. Our work moves across festivals, workshops and gatherings, where we combine foraging, sensory experiences and community spaces to reconnect people with plants in a direct, embodied way. At the heart of it, weāre restoring the relationship ā between humans and nature, and with plants as original medicine rather than something āalternative.ā Everything we create is an invitation to rebuild trust in the natural world, to experience its intelligence through art and the senses and to remember that we are part of the same living organism.
The cityās experimental culture gave us permission to explore and question a lot. At the same time, its fast pace and overstimulation made it clear how much people are craving real connection and grounding.
You describe yourselves as āalchemistsā. What does āalchemyā mean in your work?
We both have just started the path of practical alchemy. For us, alchemy is the art of transformation ā working with raw elements and turning them into something that carries new meaning, energy and experience. On a physical level, this happens through extraction, fermentation and the crafting of tonics; transforming plants, fungi and ingredients into living elixirs.
On a deeper level, itās about shifting perception ā creating spaces where people move from disconnection into presence, from consumption into relationship, and where emotions, sensations and mental states are alchemised into lived experience. It is also the transformation from pain into power.Ā
Berlin has a strong alternative and experimental culture: how has that shaped your approach to herbalism and art?
Berlin pushed us to break formats. Instead of separating herbalism, art and experience, we started merging them ā serving plants through taste, performance, ritual and shared spaces. The cityās experimental culture gave us permission to explore and question a lot. At the same time, its fast pace and overstimulation made it clear how much people are craving real connection and grounding. Our work exists in that tension. Between intensity and stillness, offering spaces where people can come back to their senses and reconnect with something more essential.
What kind of products do you create, and what are they designed to support?
We create alchemical tonics, elixirs, functional drinks and botanical spagyric extractions. Working with fermentation and upcycling, using as much as we can wild-foraged ingredients. Alongside that, we explore forest-based cuisine, developing new flavors and substitutes for things like coffee or tobacco, inviting people to experience plants beyond whatās commonly found on the table.
Rather than targeting specific symptoms, our tonics support overall connection, helping people slow down, become more present in their bodies and build a more intuitive relationship with what they consume. Theyāre not just products, but invitations to experience plants as living allies in everyday life.
What makes your approach different from mainstream wellness products?
Most wellness products focus on optimizing, fixing or targeting specific outcomes. Our approach is less about performance and more about a reciprocal relationship. We donāt see plants as tools or ingredients, but as living intelligence ā something to engage with, not just consume.
Everything we create is rooted in direct connection: through foraging, crafting, sensing and shared experience. Itās not about quick effects or passive consumption, but about slowing down, becoming present and building trust with what you take into your body. In that sense, our work is less a product line and more an invitation to relate differently ā to plants, to nourishment and to life itself.
What is your long-term vision for Fungi Art and New Tyme Tonics?
Our broader vision is to contribute to a growing mycelium of connected communities, networks of people, places and practices that explore more regenerative ways of living, sourcing and gathering. Through food, plants, art and shared experiences, we aim to support ecosystems where culture, ecology, and wellbeing nourish one another. Festivals are a natural expression of this vision: temporary villages where natural ways of relating, producing and celebrating can be experienced in real time.
